PO'OLENALENA BEACH

This large sandy beach provides a mix of sand and lava, making it a gorgeous spot to swim and snorkel. Lots of sealife to observe - remember to look, not touch. When there are waves, this is also a great place for body boarding. Parking. Limited facilities.

It offers both a sandy bottom area for swimming and rock outcroppings for fantastic snorkeling.

Seasonal high surf with strong currents and rip tides, especially around outlying rocks.

Sandy 1/2 mile stretch of beach with sloping shoreline defined by lava outcroppings at either end.
